Care Packs for Church Staff

by Alicia Tan

On the suggestion of our new lay leader, Leslie Wong, the Pastor-Parish Relations and Staff Committee (PPRSC) prepared care packs for the 20 members of our church staff as an expression of our care and appreciation for their ministry. The staff includes the pastors, lay ministry staff and those carrying out administrative roles.

The care pack, comprising home-made achar, tea leaves and an olive-wood cross, was delivered by some members of the PPRSC to the staff personally on the weekend of 6 November.

The staff members were pleasantly surprised and appreciative of the gesture.

Pastor Irene Thung said in her text message: “(H)eartiest thank yous to the PPRSC for making this personal trip to visit me! Really good to have a short chat with (Ming Ying) and Eck Kheng.”

Lay ministry staff member Joseph Lim said by WhatsApp: “Thx so much for the surprise. Appreciate the gesture. Achar my favourite.”

Let us be generous with small acts of love, for as 1 Thes 5:11-13 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.”
