to the CCMC Christmas evangelistic service
This year, CCMC's Christmas evangelistic service will be held on 16 and 17 December in the MGS auditorium. Starting at 7.45 pm, each service is open to 200 fully-vaccinated registrants seated in two zones.
The service, as in previous years, is based in the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols held in the Chapel of King's College, Cambridge University, since Christmas Eve of 1918. This was just after the First World War, and Eric Milner-White, Dean of King’s College, initiated the service to grieve the loss of the young men of Cambridge who had given their lives in warfare and to present a simple and beautiful worship service that would attract those who had lost their faith due to the horrors of the war.
This year's presentation in CCMC, following the nine set passages of scripture, blends appropriate traditional and contemporary songs songs by soloists and a specially assembled double quartet, among others. This blended approach is carried through to the use of live and pre-recorded action. These include puppetry, mime, dance, the use of worship flags and film footage.
Here is a sneak preview of Clarence Yap singing "My Peace I Give Unto You". May God's Shalom be with you during this stressful period of the Covid pandemic.
As you are blessed, bless others by sharing the Gospel that brings hope and light and life.
